Alright guys, my dragon (charlie) has gone missing. Every day during the summer last year, I would let him out in my yard in the morning around 9, and take him inside around 6 in the evening. He has never left my backyard or tried to escape. Yesterday was the first sunny day of the season, so naturally i let him out to catch some real rays, and after a 20 minutes of playing piano, i came back and he was missing. he had just gone to the bathroom so i suspect he felt like he needed to move on to a new habitat. Does anyone know how likely it is that he would cross the street or something like that? I felt like it was likely that he stayed with in one of my neighbors backyards? Any help, suggestions, or knowledge of tracking would be great, I believe he is safe, i just want to know where he is :(

OK, let me grasp the gravity of this situation!

You put a Dragon (a creature that is faster that greased lightening when spooked) outside in you back yard all by himself? A place where danger lurks from above and all around him, birds of prey and, cats would find this to be a grand opportunity for an easy meal.
I am never more than 2' away from my dragon when she is outside and that is actually to far in my opinion.
If by chance he is still there, you need to look in every nook and cranny in your yard and, find him. He is most likely in a shady spot cooling off taking a nap.
Never leave them unattended!!!!

This is very concerning... and I apologize but I am unsure what anyone on this forum may be able to do other than suggest places to look, but we're not there to see.
I have never personally allowed my dragon to remain unattended inside let alone outdoors, and predators are a huge factor. If the area is not fenced, who really knows where he would get to. They are curious and explorative animals.

I really really really hope you are able to find him safely and hope this story has a happy ending...
Please keep us informed.

Oh my actual goodness. For the life of me, I cannot figure out why anyone would leave any pet unsecured and unattended outside. Of course your beardie is likely to have crossed a road; dogs and cats are hit by cars all the time and any other pet would be no different. He may also get eaten by a hawk or other predatory bird. Not to be a downer, but this is serious and you can't possibly ask for help. All you can do is search and hope.

Good luck.

It's possible he has found a secure spot and bunkered down for a long nap. Look under and in bushes, in small shade areas, etc. When the sun comes out, look around fences and good basking spots as he may show up for a bask. They can survive outside but can be difficult to find so keep looking. I hope you are able to find him soon and hope he is well.

Poor little dragon, probably felt abandoned after being thrown out of his happy home into the badlands called your back yard and, then left in tears!
Got his little knapsack thumbing his way to another town with a sign that reads "WILL LOOK CUTE FOR DUBIAS!"
When and if you do find him, give him a deep felt, sincere apology!

...
ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!
I hope you find him. But you can't just leave a lizard outside unattended. That's honestly kind of an irresponsible thing to do.

Hi. I just want to say that a few years ago my husband was watching our dragon and he came inside for a minute went back out dragon was gone. She was gone for 6 weeks we looked everyday, everywhere. Then we went on vacation came back looked some more. No luck. We were convinced a cat got her or we have hawks around the neighborhood. Anywaywe bought a other and a couple of weeks later my husband went out to the drive way and there she was bigger and healthy. We live in Montana and this was in May where the temps get down to 30s at night and she came back the end of June. So don't give up hopefully he'll make his way back :D

I'm at a total loss over this one. What? You put your beardie outside in your UNFENCED BACKYARD at 9 in the morning and bring him in at 6 in the evening? WTF? And now you're asking if he might cross the road? Yes, the answer is yes.

I won't repeat the 10 million reasons this was completely irresponsible and just plain *****ic, but I hope he's okay. Let us know if you find him, and I hope you learn a lesson if nothing else. I have a fenced in backyard, with a 7' high solid wooden privacy fence, and I would NEVER let my beardie out there alone for a minute, let alone 9 hours!!! Cats, owls, hawks, and her digging or crawling her way under or over the fence!!! And you just put your beardie out there on a rock and expect to see him in 9 hours....Okay.

I'm sorry, but I'm really kind of upset by this one. So many people have sick Beardies and are devastated, trying desperately to save them, and then this happens...That's why it's upsetting...

Actually, I'm calling TROLL now after looking at his profile. Only 1 post, this one, and his name is "Herpatitis B", so either he's a troll or I feel badly for him...

A troll most likely.

If this person has actually had their beardie go missing - what were they thinking ?

You guys, this is insane. I sincerely hope this is a joke. It's a very MEAN one, if so... but I'd still rather it be a joke. Following because now I must know what comes of this. If it is a joke... why? What would someone have to gain by trolling a bearded dragon forum?

Though this is the OPs first and only post, it's not uncommon for someone to create an account for this forum to post asking for help, never to be heard from after, usually after someone asks for photos...

I'd hate to start calling this a joke or trolling if this individual is truly missing their dragon, and if so I'm really pulling for them to find him, but the situation itself is definitely pretty ludicrous, however not impossible..

It's been 4 days without an update, so I take it this mystery may never be solved

It kind of reminds me of that thread in which the OP had one dragon maul another to the point of missing limbs and bits of tail (pictures and all), never to be heard from again. So sad.

I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.

i feel so sad reading your about me 😢
Clapton is acclimating okay I think. He's quick as lightning so I'm not sure how much I should bring him out of his house yet. He's not at all interested in his salad though. I wonder if I should change what I'm giving him. Least he's eating his crickets.

Things to do:
Buy calcium powder
Material to raise surface for basking spot
Scenery decals for back of tank
