Honestly it would be hard to offer too many veggies. Personally my experience has been early exposure to a variety of veggies/greens is the best thing. Not much different than what you would do with a toddler. When they get used to seeing some thing in trying it the more they’ll be open to eating it. You can try some cut up sugar snap peas as well, collards, turnip greens, escarole, arugula, peeled cut or julienned butternut squash for variety. I mix n match.I know for baby beardies it’s 80% live food and 20% veggies but can someone tell me how often is that? I’ve been giving a little mix of mustard greens, squash and sweet peppers every morning. He normally doesn’t eat much of it. Am I giving him enough or too much veggies?
Mr. Rex is an adult and he still likes everything cut pretty small, shredded or julienned. I would love to see pix if the baby too.I agree with the others, finely chopped greens for a small baby if the leaf is a tough type like collards or if you use squash you can either shred it or microwave it to soften it . My dragons usually get greens like turnip, kale, arugula, mustard and sometimes collards. It's perfectly fine to put the greens in within a half hour, most beardies will wait until they're warmed up but even if they eat early they have all day to bask in the heat to digest their food. BTW, do you have any pics of your baby ?
