So my 5 year old son asked me for a bearded dragon back in August. Never even hearing about them before I went to the pet store to see what it was all about. I fell in love with them at first sight. But decided to go home and research them a little more. First thing I learned was to stay away from the kits which I almost did purchase that day. I then found a local breeder and asked if we could go see his beardies and I could ask questions. He gladly let us and answered more questions than I asked. He had 2 young clutches and my son fell in love with the runt of the youngest clutch. Told him we would have to wait while I researched them more and got ther habitat together. During that time and from during more research we both became more and more fascinated with them. We even went see another breeders beardies and he was set on wanting the most red leatherback we could find(because he loves red dragons). I had promised the first breeder that when everything was ready we would be back to see his again before we bought one anywhere. And have been in communication with him since asking for advice on the habitat and feeders. So during the week I finally had everything ready and we went back today to get him his red not spikey dragon. While looking at them he fell back in love with the same runt and that's the one he chose. And now we are both so excited to bring home our little pepper uber ( kids logic. Dragons breath fire. Fire is red and hot like pepper. Uber because that's what the breeder called him because he was always riding around on his siblings. ) sorry for the long backstory and the bombardment of pics.

No one will chide you for either too many pics or a great way of coming to your beardie! Welcome to the beardie life, enjoy them for the loving family members they are.

How old is Pepper?

Don't be surprised if Pepper stays small. My first beardie was that way; she never grew even though she ate me out of house and home!

While it would be cute for him to stay small, it will also severely shorten his life. My girl passed away at the age of two, no doubt a byproduct of the stresses on her system early on. Dwarfism, if it happens, takes a huge toll on their overall systems and shortens their life spans.

Hi there pepper uber! :D

I love it when they are so small like that! I dont understand how people want them to grow up quicker and quicker.

Hey, do you not even know us here? We LOVE pictures. Imo you were a little light on them ;)

Getting ready for another day. Feeling sleepy. 😴
I just walked into my room and instead of looking at me, Swordtail's eyes darted directly to the ice cream drumstick I'm holding
Finally replaced Swordtail's substrate
I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.
