Hi
Our family has just gained a new member and we are unsure of a few things in our bearded dragons habitat..
The nice round flat rock we have is getting to 50 degrees and we feel it's a bit too hot.
HOW HOT SHOULD THE ROCKS GET
We do not want to hurt our dragon
Help please.
Also how do we add a picture to a post

Are you going to be putting those rocks in for basking? You need a Infrared heat gun to get those temps-- you can take the temp after about 10 minutes or so w/ the heat gun and it will give you the most accurate temp -- temps should be 95-105 for an adult - a little warmer for a baby

The flat rock sounds like a great basking spot. The surface temp you're measuring is quite a bit too high though. Basking surface temps should be in the range of about 38-42c and the enclosure should have a gradient of temps down to around 24c or so on the cool side surfaces.

Getting ready for another day. Feeling sleepy. 😴
I just walked into my room and instead of looking at me, Swordtail's eyes darted directly to the ice cream drumstick I'm holding
Finally replaced Swordtail's substrate
I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.
