2 weeks of ownership. Learning lots but worrying we’re not doing everything correctly.....he / she seems pretty happy (already Shed) so hopefully we’re on the right track.

Trying to handle every day to get him / used to us (it’s really my daughters pet). My only worry is that while we asked for the smallest crickets at the store, some of them are bigger than pin heads (bit bigger than the space between eyes) but he eats them down fine (I dust the crickets in his first meal of the day) about 15 per day....only a little interest in greens.

Also tried to bath him but was not happy...I did gently wipe him with wet kitchen towel which helped to remove last remaining shed (but did not pick / force the skin off).

Hope we’ll have many happy years ahead! And thanks for this forum...lots of useful info!

Hi there! Oatmeal is a cute little one! I wouldn't worry about greens right now. They will eat them or not when they're babies , though it's always good to provide them. Definitely be careful about the size of the crickets. If you get one that seems larger, you might be able to mash it to make it easier for him/her to eat.

Oatmeal looks sweet. I'm in the same boat as you, our dragon is for my son, but I must make sure everything is ok. We had a heck of a time finding right size crickets for ours. The pet stores never seem to have the tiny crickets. I finally ordered online. My son named ours Beardie, lol. Hes not as friendly as yours looks. He seems to deal with us as long as theres food. We've tried the bath every other day. The only way he will tolerate it, is if we toss some crickets in the water. Ours has shredded twice now, and actually seems bigger in the 3 weeks we've had him. Best of luck.

Getting ready for another day. Feeling sleepy. 😴
I just walked into my room and instead of looking at me, Swordtail's eyes darted directly to the ice cream drumstick I'm holding
Finally replaced Swordtail's substrate
I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.
