Just got a baby Beardie 2 days ago. She's shedding and not eating very much, maybe a few crickets a day and some greens. Not sure what to so or if we're even doing it right. It's like having a human baby all over again. We're STRESSED!!! Any advice for new parents...lol??

He/she looks pretty good. :) It's common for them to go through a period of stress when going to a new home, and this is why they don't eat quite as much. Give it some time and you'll probably see the appetite increase over the next 7-10 days.

It would be good to list your exact type + brand of lights in case anything needs to be adjusted and also a pic of the entire set up.

Hope your baby becomes a happy + healthy member of your family. :)

Thanks. She ate more yesterday evening. We gave her a bath and let her sit in the actual sun for a little while. She lightened up a lot and had about 6 crickets and 6 pieces of greens. Last night we added a heat pad but had to put it on the side of the tank. We are going to get a few more items for her tank as well, background, hammock and more lighting. It's a 40 gallon tank. Do you have suggestions for lighting? We have a 80 watt Solar Glo light by Exo Terra but I don't think it's enough. We have borrowed another light from a friend for the time being until I can figure out what lighting we need. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!!??

Yes, the Mega Ray bulbs are very nice. My oldest one has been going strong for a year and a half so far. The 100w should sit about 10-12'' above the basking area and the 160w should sit a bit further away. Perhaps around 14-18'' or so.

So. We've had our baby Beardie for 1 week. She was only eating between 5-8 crickets a day. Then two days ago, she ate 13 crickets and some greens. She is pooping fine but yesterday and today she will not eat crickets and will only eat the greens. Is this normal??? She is shedding and has been since we got her. We had thought maybe things were turning around because she ate so much the other day but now it's worse than when we first got her. I'm so worried about her!!

If she's alert and active she's probably fine. You'll see that she goes through phases of eating more and eating less. Especially this early on when she's getting used to a new home and shedding on top of that. Shedding can also have them off their food and acting moody sometimes.

I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.

i feel so sad reading your about me 😢
Clapton is acclimating okay I think. He's quick as lightning so I'm not sure how much I should bring him out of his house yet. He's not at all interested in his salad though. I wonder if I should change what I'm giving him. Least he's eating his crickets.

Things to do:
Buy calcium powder
Material to raise surface for basking spot
Scenery decals for back of tank
