Hi, I wasn’t sure if this is right place to ask this question but thought I’d ask here as it seemed as good a place ask anyway. So I am a first time breeder and my female layed a clutch of eggs sometime last year. When I candled them only 6 showed signs of being fertile. About 55 days into incubation the first fertile egg started to deflate, I first thought that they needed water so I watered the vermiculite around it, a day later the others started to deflate. It has been about 63 days now and non off them have stopped deflating, is this normal? Do I need to change anything??

Did they hatch? I’m just looking at your post now and it sounds like they were getting ready to hatch! Deflating is normal before they hatch, as the babies have cut open the eggs preparing to come out.

Strange. Hopefully someone more experienced in breeding will answer you and help but at 60 days it’s very possible they’re starting to hatch. Could you possibly post a picture of them please?

Sorry to say it, but to me, it doesn’t even look like those eggs are fertile. They’re small and if they were fertile it looks like they may be done for now. I could be wrong, but eggs at that age are usually a lot bigger than that.

That's a shame, I'll keep an eye out on them for now just in case but thanks so much for the help

They may have been fertile but they dried out completely. Once they get like that there's almost zero chance of hatching. The one on the very far end [ top ] might have a slight chance but you need to add a little more water around it. Still, these are 99.9 % for sure goners.

I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.

i feel so sad reading your about me 😢
Clapton is acclimating okay I think. He's quick as lightning so I'm not sure how much I should bring him out of his house yet. He's not at all interested in his salad though. I wonder if I should change what I'm giving him. Least he's eating his crickets.

Things to do:
Buy calcium powder
Material to raise surface for basking spot
Scenery decals for back of tank
