We lost Drake last night. He was mine and my husband's first pet together. We weren't allowed to have pets in our tiny apartment unless they could be kept in a "cage". Neither of us ever cared for a reptile pet before, but we got Drake because I really love animals and just wanted a pet. This site was so helpful for first-time beardie owners like us. I never imagined how attached I would get to a lizard; it's good to know I'm not the only one. They are so lovable! Drake was 8 1/2 years old and died from a tumor in his chest. By the time we knew it was there, he died the next night; I'm grateful it was quick and the vet said he wasn't in pain. Drake was so friendly and handsome and he will be greatly missed!
