New user uvb question

Hi all new here im struggling to decide on the right uvb, im torn between 2 types and would like any suggestions, i visited the arcadia site whewe there is a useful uvb distance link below to web page i seen,

im torn between the t5 12% d3+ desert and the uv flood 12% uv-b d3+ desert,

i have a 40 gallon tank with a large mesh top sp beleive it will be ok sitting on the top,

i would apperciate any suggestions,

Hello,

Are you wanting to use the Mercury vapor bulb, correct?
Or, the T5 tube bulb 12%, which would be fine as well. It all depends on your tank setup
really for distance & placement of the lighting.
They are both terrific lights though. The tube bulb since it is a T5 high output bulb, would
be fine sitting on top of the screen as long as it is around 10 inches from him to be able to
penetrate through the mesh.

, the 24W is only 13" long cf the 24W T5 rated 12%UVB which is 22" long.
So the AU24R is more suitable for tanks under 20" long or wide , and rearing tubs ( about 120L to 150L capacity ) .

I suggest aiming for a UVB tube (or flood) about 2/3 the length of your tank.

I'd suggest getting the 24W t5 12% d3+ desert for a tank up to 24" tall and up to 48" long.

There's a 55W version that is 21.5" long.
