This is my 4x2x2 build that I recently completed for Tokyo. I made it out of Ikea replacement parts from the discount section which is pretty much sealed wood. It was a bit of a hassle but honestly I think it turned out awesome!

That's good thinking to pick from the extras area from Ikea! Looks like it turned out really well. One thought I have is that if it appears to be stuffy or you have trouble controlling the temps, you could drill some vent holes low on the cool side. That should draw in more air via convection.
