Heating pad and CHE

should I have a heating pad, under the enclosure, and a CHE heater at the same time? I have a heating pad under my beardies enclosure but I'm wondering when I get my CHE if I should have them both on at the same time?

No heating pads are not normally used unless if nothing else is available for when a dragon is sick -- CHE's are most recommended as beardies heat from the back on the stomach --- CHE's are used if tanks are getting below 65 at nite that is the normal - you want your basking light during the day to be able to keep temps what they need to be which normally keeps the middle part of the tank the correct temps as well
