Hi guys!!! I was debating between posting here or under health so I'm sorry if this isn't the right place. I have a question about my basking bulb and temperatures. I'm not home right now but can post a picture of the set up a little later of needed. I'll give a basic run down though: 40 gallon tank, reptisun t8 10.0 mounted inside, 100watt repti-basking spot bulb, reptile carpet, and i have a multilevel basking pot for her as well as a hide and some vines she loves. Temperature(fahrenheit) on the cool side is anywhere between 71-75, warm part varies between 80-90 depending on what specific spot, and for her basking branch the lowest is 100-105 and the highest is always 120 or higher. Ive tried moving the branch around, i moved it so its on its side and still, it's 120. I recently got a temperature gun to be sure (really good reviews so I trust it) and still its 120. My bearded dragon seems to not like going to the top like she used to and is almost completely avoiding her basking branch, but she loves to stay in the warmer part just to the left of her branch which is 85-95 degrees (i don't know the specific temperature off the top of my head). Also, she hasnt been eating as much as she used to (i still feed her 3 times a day), but i did go up a size in crickets maybe thats why? She's a little over 3 months old, so I'm still learning her behaviors and so on. I was wondering if maybe it's too hot for her ???? and if yes, should I try a 75 watt ?? My room is typically around 70-75 degrees no higher or lower. I dont know if that has anything to do with it. But I would love some feedback and feel free to ask questions!!
