T5 or T8 Question

Hey everyone. I'm currently due to change my Beardie's UVB bulb and had a question. I built my own cage for her and the dimensions are 4ft long, 2ft deep, and 2ft tall. I currently am using a 36" T8 fixture without a reflector with a Reptisun 10.0 and was wondering if it would be beneficial if I changed to a T5 fixture with something like an Arcadia High Output 12%. The current bulb sits 21" from the bulb to the floor and about 15" from her main basking spot to the bulb. There is no screen obstructing anything and is mounted directly inside with no obstructions. Thank you!

Hi there,

At 15 inches from the basking spot you will definitely want the t5 version

I'd recommend a T5ho 12% tube in a reflector hood between 24" to 36" long for your tank, the basking spot needs to be about 12" from the UVB tube refer to this : a quantative guide in terms of both UVB flux and if you need it UV-Index

For 15" distance , you'll need a T5ho 14%UVB tube.
