On the basking spot, the infrared gun is showing 93 and probe is showing 110. Which can I trust? I checked both with a glass of ice water and both were 32.something.

That is a bit of a temperature difference.
Are you measuring in the exact same place too?
What type of substance is your basking area, rock, tiles, etc? The probe will measure very
accurately, the ambient temperature & pretty accurately the exact basking spot area. The
temp gun will measure the exact temperature of the basking spot surface, so, between the
two temperatures you have a good idea of them both. They are both accurate but give you
a little difference in the variation of the two.

I'm blaming the difference on the fact that it is a cheap infrared gun from Lowe's. I have one of the nice expensive ones but cannot find it.Drache613":5rx5mrb7 said:
So could the probe be getting hotter just because it's in the direct path of the lamp and is black? so maybe the black is absorbing heat more? IDK.. but the new baby is eating well and only arrived yesterday..
I believe kingofnobbys is right about the emissivity.. since it's a $30 gun.
