Here’s my new viv, I’m new to all this so a little puzzled with it all. They have sent me the Arcadia dry vivarium controller, in the box was 2 plastic fittings with plastic screws, surely I’m not supposed to try and drill these into hard wood on the roof to hold the uvb bulb, how do I secure it to the roof? I just have dangling wires through the vents at the moment. I also got 2 50w basking bulbs, do I use both of these or will 1 be enough? How will I secure the cables after they r fed through the vent, I don’t want to destroy the wood, will tape do?

You'll want to secure the clips to the roof of the tank usually by screwing them in but a good adhesive might do the trick as well. Then you attach the end caps to the clip and put the reflector over the top of the bulb. It should sit over the basking area right next to the basking light. As far as the basking lights go, they are more dependent on temperature. I'd set one up and see how the basking surface temperature goes. If that stays between 38-42C it's just right. If you need more heat you can add the second lamp or use a higher wattage. Sometimes that takes some tweaking to get just right.

I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.

Clapton is acclimating okay I think. He's quick as lightning so I'm not sure how much I should bring him out of his house yet. He's not at all interested in his salad though. I wonder if I should change what I'm giving him. Least he's eating his crickets.

Things to do:
Buy calcium powder
Material to raise surface for basking spot
Scenery decals for back of tank
