Despite having no experience with building anything I decided to just jump right in and attempt to build one of these guys. So far so good, everything is very simple so far...only I am running into an issue of exactly how to mount the bulbs on the inside of the tank.

It calls for one of these
https://www.amazon.com/Leviton-9875-Porcelain-Incandescent-Lampholder/dp/B00002N7IM

But I have no idea how I'm supposed to mount that into the tank and have it sit flush with the melamine. Every way that I can think of out have the extension cord coming out of the base (which would make it lopsided which I doubt is safe at all.

Anyone have any ideas of how to mount that? Or a different item that I can mount this into?

It doesn't have to be that specifically. It could be something even simpler like this https://www.amazon.com/Medium-Base-Light-Socket-Porcelain/dp/B0080I95RI/ You could drill a hole in the top to have the wire coming out or just have the wire coming out the side and have the socket sitting a little down from the top too. I would also mount a T5 fixture rather than the T8 that is usually recommended. This one can be hung from hooks or on a wire https://www.amazon.com/Sunblaster-904296-NanoTech-Fixture-Reflector/dp/B00AKKUBDQ/

I just walked into my room and instead of looking at me, Swordtail's eyes darted directly to the ice cream drumstick I'm holding
