Questions, upgrading to 40G

I am moving my dragon from a 20 to 40gallon tank this weekend and have questions about UVA light.

How should I set this up, I have seen many different opinions:

36x18x16

Reptisun T5 10.0 36"- to cover the whole tank
Reptisun T5 10.0 24" - to cover 70-80%

Also where should the placement be of the light? Thanks.

You want the 22" Reptisun so that there can be a gradient so it's not constant uvb all day long. You would put the UVB light to one side with a basking light along side it so that the UVB is about 12" from the basking spot and the basking light gets the basking temp to 100-105. UVB should be under any screen unless you can get it 10"from basking spot.

Don't bother with the t8 fixture and just go straight to a t5.

I agree that a 22'' T5 is the way to go. In a 40g breeder it can sit right on top and should produce plenty of UVB. Just sit it next to the basking light right over the basking area for best results.
