uvb light question

I could be wrong, I am still a newbie myself, but I believe it should go on the basking side or the middle. Wherever your beardie will have the most access to it. Since out beardie spends most of his time on the warmer side, that's where we've put his tube.
Also, if you look at the image on this article, it shows it on the hot/basking side of the tank.

I suggest putting it over the basking area for best results. Is it a T5 or a T8 bulb? The different bulbs have different output strengths and optimal distances. The 100w MegaRay is a nice bulb and produces a good level of UVB between about 10-12''. It has a fairly narrow beam though so it's good to use a tube style UVB light along with it or use it as a portable lamp outside the tank.
