UVB still good?

I have a ReptiSun 10.0 UVB fluorescent light bulb that I haven't even turned on once since I first got it about 5 months ago (I bought it as a spare). Even though I have not used it, would it still be ok to use? It's been sitting in it's box and I haven't touched it in months.

I think the only issue with UVB lights is that they only last 6 months, but I think that's if they are being plugged in and used. Otherwise, if a UVB was sitting on the store shelf for a few months that would really suck to only get 3 out of it and not know it :shock:
