Hi all, I will be getting my beardie at a reptile expo in September, and until then I want to prepare everything for his comfortable living. I've ordered a custom-built terrarium, lights and all, and now wondering what to do regarding substrate. Here in Czech Republic everyone keeps dragons on sand, but I read about impaction risks, and it's also a lot more effort to clean in a big enclosure. I saw a carpet with little pebbles glued to it in a local gardening store, it looks great and natural, do you guys think it's safe to use? I read it's beneficial to provide a place to dig, what would you suggest to put there? I was thinking moist river sand or earth and sand mix...

Most people use tile or paper towels. I switched from reptile carpet to non adhesive shelf liner. Easy to clean and bugs can't get under it. No sand or dirt, not good for them.

Getting ready for another day. Feeling sleepy. 😴
I just walked into my room and instead of looking at me, Swordtail's eyes darted directly to the ice cream drumstick I'm holding
Finally replaced Swordtail's substrate
I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
