I'll make this short and sweet since I know things like this are asked a lot. I bought a double Deep Dome fixture and along with it, a 13 watt ReptiSun 10.0 mini Compact Flourescent (not a coil, but a looped tube).
Ive read read bad things about compacts in general (particularly coils from around 2009-2011) but want to know if this particular bulb and lamp setup will suffice, or if I should attempt to get my money back and buy a tube setup... Am I better off just getting a Mercury Vapor bulb? Recommendations greatly appreciated!

Extra information: My beardie is a young one, just got him the other day.. I noticed he isnt as vibrant as he was in the store (maybe gonna shed soon?), but he seems fine, no discernable eye issues as of yet. He does tend to close his eyes a lot, kinda looks at me with one eye, as if hes trying to sleep or something. But he is quite alert and still eating well. Hes my first beardie. Thanks for any advice!

Sorry for the confusion !
What you have is still a coil type bulb, the long tube type is what you need. The Reptisun 10.0 t8 will get you by but, the Reptisun 10.0 t5 HO is a lot better. You can also look into an Arcadia 12%d3 as another good option.

I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.

i feel so sad reading your about me 😢
Clapton is acclimating okay I think. He's quick as lightning so I'm not sure how much I should bring him out of his house yet. He's not at all interested in his salad though. I wonder if I should change what I'm giving him. Least he's eating his crickets.

Things to do:
Buy calcium powder
Material to raise surface for basking spot
Scenery decals for back of tank
