I'm getting my first BD. I want to put my lights on a timer. How many hours a day should the UVB light be on and I guess I need to get a CHE light for heat at night when I turn the basking lamp off. How many hours of night should he need?

Hi
Seems most advice seems to be lights on between 12 to15 hrs a day. I went with 15 hours so lights off 9 hours.
You only need a heat source if your temps fall below about 65f. & then you would only need a low watt ceramic heat emitter to bring temps up to about 70f
Hope this helps.

I just walked into my room and instead of looking at me, Swordtail's eyes darted directly to the ice cream drumstick I'm holding
Finally replaced Swordtail's substrate

What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.
