i bought my viv 2nd hand already decorated with polystyrene lined walls and features in it with all the lighting for 150. Since the hot weather we have had so many flies in the house and a couple of days ago i noticed a beetle emerging from the polystyrene :banghead: On closer inspection the surface is solid but if you apply pressure it is full of holes.

So decorating is in order. Just looking for some tips on what works for others

So far we are lining the floor with a sheet of wood and tiling it with stone floor tiles(no substrate needed) and a desert freeze on the back and sides - we are thinking about NOT putting in a basking platform but just having basking log that can be removed for cleaning.

my little ones are booked in on a holiday while we do the work so we have about a week to develop any other ideas.
looking forward to hearing your ideas

Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
Getting ready for another day. Feeling sleepy. 😴
I just walked into my room and instead of looking at me, Swordtail's eyes darted directly to the ice cream drumstick I'm holding
Finally replaced Swordtail's substrate
I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
