digital thermometer

has anyones ex terra thermometer ever been off? i have a 150 watt basking bulb 8 inches -10 inches from basking spot and it is reading 92F. doesn't seem right.... especially because when i put my hand where his basking spot is, it is very hot.

What type of thermometer is it, digital strip, round gauge (dial), or digital with a probe end? Where exactly is the thermometer placed that gives you the 92 degree reading?

at the top of the basking spot and it is a digital probe exo terra thermometer
