So, today we got a 3 toed box turtle into the rescue. He has gone through 4 different homes in the past few months. He is in a 20 gallon tank on small animal bedding (care fresh) bleh. and oh my his toenails are long! I am supprised he can walk! His name is Shellden, and he will go to the vet for an exam and intestinal parasite fecal exam on Teusday. Here he is!:

What a cutie! I love the patterns and colors on his head.
I can't believe the previous owners allowed the nails to grow to that length. Poor thing. Good luck with trimming his nails :lol:

So, the trimming of the nails was a success!! He let me do it fairly willingly! Those back nails were thick! my reptile nail trimmers were too small, I had to use the dog's nail trimmers! But he can walk comfortably now! I am so happy for him. Now we just need to find him a 'forever' home.

Glad to hear he didnt put up a fuss when you trimmed his nails. I bet he is much happier now.
