A little back story: I work for a vet and got a phone call saying someone found a bearded dragon on their mailbox and they didn't know what to do with it. She was in rough shape and had a mass on her eye. The doc said he'd be willing to try the surgery to remove it and I agreed to take care of her. She's a doll. I wish I knew more of her history.

I figured you guys would enjoy seeing some pictures from the whole ordeal. It was definitely exciting and it went really well as far as we can tell. We assumed the eye was part of the tumor but it was actually just in the upper lid. The vet fashioned a slightly smaller eye opening so she can hopefully still keep her eye protected and lubricated, giving her the best chance of saving her vision on that side. So super cool for our little rescue girl.

I'd love any guesses on age and if you guys have seen masses like this before. It was infected so it could've been just a knarley abscess too.

(Sorry these are upside down, I don't know how to fix it ?)

Wow, that's really amazing and it's a tribute to that vet do do such a major surgery to help the poor creature. There was a dragon posted about in the health subforum that had an abscess/mass that kept filling with fluid....a vet removed the eye and the beardie [ Stumpy ] didn't make it in the end. The thread was very long, many , many pages and very sad. But it started out much different than yours, hopefully your vet got everything and your girl will heal + end up O.K, even IF she loses the eye. Please update when you can. :)

My guess on her age is about 3-4 yrs. old.

I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.

i feel so sad reading your about me 😢
Clapton is acclimating okay I think. He's quick as lightning so I'm not sure how much I should bring him out of his house yet. He's not at all interested in his salad though. I wonder if I should change what I'm giving him. Least he's eating his crickets.

Things to do:
Buy calcium powder
Material to raise surface for basking spot
Scenery decals for back of tank
