found this little one in my yard, and want to know if i should be alarmed. he does not seem to have venomous traits, non viperous eyes nor triangular head. but i would like to be sure. i plan to set him free, but maybe keep him as a possible pet. i have several reptiles already and wouldn't mind caring for him/her but that would be only if it could be tamable and non venomous. what are your recommendations. what kind of snake is it?

Not a problem, I'll get back to you as soon as I get a response.

EDIT: where are you located? It will help with the ID.

You have yourself a Black ratsnake-Elaphe obsoleta. They make good pets though a wild caught might be a bit bitey. Care for them like a corn snake.

I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.

Clapton is acclimating okay I think. He's quick as lightning so I'm not sure how much I should bring him out of his house yet. He's not at all interested in his salad though. I wonder if I should change what I'm giving him. Least he's eating his crickets.

Things to do:
Buy calcium powder
Material to raise surface for basking spot
Scenery decals for back of tank
