Anole shedding question

Hi,

I have two green anoles my male I've had about a year and I've seen him shed a couple times but when he sheds he eats it and like pulls the shedding off himself at first I thought maybe he was a little messed up in the head because I had gotten him at petco. But I also have a female I've had for about 3 months and last night I saw her shedding and when a came back a little later she was doing the same thing pulling he shed off herself and eating it. They have food always available like crickets, mealworms, and phoenix worms so I was wondering if this is normal or theres something wrong with my anoles or if I'm doing something wrong. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

LOL, the messed up petco lizards. No there is nothing wrong with them. Most and almost all lizards pull off their shed and eat it because it gives them a little extra calcium.

Many reptiles eat their skin as well to cover up any scents or evidence that may give their location away

Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
Getting ready for another day. Feeling sleepy. 😴
I just walked into my room and instead of looking at me, Swordtail's eyes darted directly to the ice cream drumstick I'm holding
Finally replaced Swordtail's substrate
I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
