eastern water dragon vs. chinese water dragon?

Well I'm really interested in water dragons, but the eastern australian really pulls me in. Hows the temprament for handling or letting roam in comparison to the smaller chinese water dragon or in comparison to whatever other reptile your best to compare with.
The eastern really reminds me of Gremlins, when they eat after midnight. lol
