So my friend just got a Leopard Gecko as her first reptile. I have an 11 month old Bearded Dragon and the research that I've been doing with her shows that these two reptiles are very different. I read that Leopard Geckos don't eat plants of veggies, is this true? Also I read to keep a constant supply of mealworms in a bowl in the cage constantly, will he overeat? Also we are very confused regarding the light situation. She has a heat mat under the cage which doesn't get the cage's air temp high enough, but how do you take the surface temp? Also I read that they don't bask, is this true? She ordered a Ceramic Heat Emitter and a dome light fixture since her air temps won't rise over 75. He's in a 10 Gallon tank with a rock- like substrate, no loose particles and has two hides on each side of the tank. He maybe 4-6 weeks old and she got him from PetSmart. Thank in advance! -Adriana
