Aborina Aboreal Alligator Lizard help

So i recently obtained an Aboreal alligator lizard about 2 weeks ago and I need some help with him, hes about a year and a half when i got him if that is any help. The first thing is he doesnt appear to be eating much, if at all, i never see or hear him eating, and alot of the live prey is still there for quite some time. What is a good weight for them so I can weigh him to see if hes gaining or loosing weight. He also is very nervous about everything, most of his day is consistent of watching me and hiding everytime i go near his cage. He just sits in cover and watches where I am at all times. When Im gone he comes out, but when i come back he immediately panics and goes back to that behavior. Any advise on him would really help, im just nervous about him so Im trying to get as much info as possible.
