Hello,
I've had my True Fire Skink since April 10th and he just went through his first shed with us. I noticed that while in shed and after shed he wasn't too hungry. Is that common? Do they eat their shed like leos do? I only ask that because I didn't find any shed in his viv. He doesn't eat much, if at all. He eats only once every week/every other week which is another concern. He's very active and alert, and looks to be a really good weight. Here's a pic of him I just took today after his shed.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Hi there....I've never seen mine eat his shed, and he never seems to lose his appetite. I got him as an adult about 8 years ago, he's always eaten any insect I give him, pretty much every day and will also eat scrambled egg. I have him set up with eco earth and a little topsoil, with a hide log + couple of rocks + fake plants. I pour about a cup of water in 2 - 3 times a week to keep it moist, aside from his water bowl. So yours only eats once a week ? How is he set up ? They are really very hardy lizards so I hope he does well for you.

Actually yesterday I just found little bits and pieces of his shed when looking for him.
I think the last time he ate was a week or so ago before shed. He ate a hornworm and a wax worm.

I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.

i feel so sad reading your about me 😢
Clapton is acclimating okay I think. He's quick as lightning so I'm not sure how much I should bring him out of his house yet. He's not at all interested in his salad though. I wonder if I should change what I'm giving him. Least he's eating his crickets.

Things to do:
Buy calcium powder
Material to raise surface for basking spot
Scenery decals for back of tank
