Can I switch from crickets to Worms?

It is very sporadic when I can get crickets unless I travel an hour away and for some reason I can't keep the crickets alive. Husband said it may be our water is to minerall?

My question is how can I train my beardie to eat worms as his primary protein? Which worms are best?

Another food question. Should I get the veggie mix at the pet food store? I have had this baby (1 monthish old) for about a week. He is currently going through a shed. He doesn't seem to crazy about lettuce or dandelion greens. He did get a super small taste of banana though and liked that!

Thanks for any help! We are first time beardie owners!

please dont rely on the pet store for food --- I dont recommend dry food from the pet store -- fresh is always best --- here is a nutrition website for salads http://www.beautifuldragons.com/Nutrition.html
here are some more websites -- as of now a lot of these places are low on certain insects mostly now is super worms -- I am having a hard time finding large ones -- seems there was a issue here not long ago w/ something to do w / a fire and it must of been a main source for some of these places -- here are some more websites to order from
http://www.mulberryfarms.com spendy on shipping they ship Fed Ex -- you can get some horn worms they are a good hydrating worm they grow very fast so order small amounts and feed 1-2 worms or they will outgrow your baby -- butter worms are good nice and soft feed 1-3 -- the main thing is too keep her from getting hooked on the worms and getting her to eat some salad -- you can feed the BSFL in the morning on top add them in front of her so she sees what your doing and then add some dubias her staple feeder like a hr later - she will eat less roaches if shes eating the BSFL -- make sure you rinse the BSFL off before serving --
http://www.abdragons.com
http://www.dubiaroaches.com
http://www.reptilianarts.com
Your baby needs the protein so get it ordered ASAP-- her diet should be 80% protein and 20% salad this will change once she turns about a year so you want her eating salads if only a little now-- make sure you are dusting the insects except the BSFL w/ calcium D3 5 x per week ONCE per feeding and vitamins w/ beta carotene 2 x per week ONCE per feeding -- if shes eating two times per day which she should be and about 20-30 crickets at a time now dust them only ONCE--- w/ all the things in I mentioned above she should fill up -- it will give her a balance diet as well -- make sure you rinse the greens before serving that will give her hydration -- watch her poops for dehydration -- no chalky dried out looking urate that should be white formed and moist -- dark urate should be formed and moist -- in order for her to stay healthy and eating pooping and basking please NO COIL UVB's they are a health hazzard --- basking temps should be 105-110 taken w/ a digital probe thermometer any more questions please ask

Hi,

We have received our enclosure, and are waiting for enclosure stand, lights, accessories, etc. Once received and confirm working and proper heating, etc. we will purchase a dragon.

My wife is still not completely on board with Dubia Roaches. They don't look as nasty as the 1-2 we've see at our house in the past, but she's still struggling with this.

Is this site mainly used for salad nutritional info? I see worms on it, but I do not see Dubia Roaches: http://www.beautifuldragons.com/Nutrition.html

Personally, I like Dubias because my understanding is they don't stink. I believe the crickets can be stanky.

The above link does show Phoenix Worms as a good staple, but I think I may be reading it incorrectly because most comments say worms cannot be the staple...

Thank you, Brandon

You will.like the dubias way better the ones you saw in the house are not dubias- they do not infest like a cock roachs- they are better nutritional wise and yes the site you have for nutrition is used more often- phoenix worms are the same as BSFL also known as calci worms or nutri grubs- crickets are escape artist so I recommend the dubias you can order all these online if you want websites please ask I will post

I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.

i feel so sad reading your about me 😢
Clapton is acclimating okay I think. He's quick as lightning so I'm not sure how much I should bring him out of his house yet. He's not at all interested in his salad though. I wonder if I should change what I'm giving him. Least he's eating his crickets.

Things to do:
Buy calcium powder
Material to raise surface for basking spot
Scenery decals for back of tank
