I'm trying to vary Figment's diet a bit, since he's gotten really, really picky... won't eat his dubias anymore for love or money, picks at his greens and squash. So tonight I picked up a can of silkworms to try... I know, I know, live is better - but those things are EXPENSIVE. Of course, so was the can - $3.99 - for as much was in it.
Well, Figment perked up with the offer of one, sniffed it, tasted it, ate it.
Then promptly rubbed his face vigorously on the bottom of the tank and backed away. If a dragon could look affronted, he did.
I tried again. Again, he sniffed, tasted, and ate.
And again rubbed his face on the bottom of the tank, and this time retreated well away from me with a look that plainly said, "I can't believe I ate a SECOND one... ugh!"
I may try live at some point, but I'm going to call this experiment a wash. I can't say I blame Figment... canned silkworms look NASTY, and probably don't taste much better!
