Won't Stop Eating

Hi Guys!

My beardie is happy and healthy, and is growing normally, but lately, he seems to be wanting more and more food! He is almost 3 months old, and I bought him 50 crickets yesterday, and they're already gone! This is getting quite expensive to keep up with. Does anyone know how to raise Dubias? Or how to raise BSFL?
I've looked up the process online before, but it really doesn't make a whole lot of sense.
Can I purchase Dubias or BSFL from the store, and start a colony that way?

You can start a colony from www.dubiaroaches.com supplier or others off Amazon --- they take a long time to get going --- I would suggest you visit one of the suppliers on line and order roaches -- I order 200 small at time -- roaches are more filling and better nutritional value anyway-- mine eats about 5-10 per day and only one time a day --- but I also feed him vegies in the morning w/ a few BSFL like 6 or so and 1-2 small supers to get him to the bowl - the BSFL are added on top of salad as well -- roaches are fed separately about an hr or so later --- I offer again in the afternoon but he doesnt touch them so that tells me hes eating enough in the morning till noon -- I feed him the roaches around 11 or so --- I want him to start eating vegies now - as I learned w/ my first beardie I didnt do that and now I cant get him to eat vegies at all ---- even tho a bowl of salad goes into the tank w/ hornworms on top or butter worms he wont touch it ---- :banghead: --I have tried everything w/ different greens etc -- so w/ that being said --- I learned this technique I got Blaze from the breeder - this is what she does w/ her baby dragons - Blaze is 8 weeks now -- and is eating his greens squash and I have given him grape one time -- i dont feed fruit daily as it has a lot of sugar in it and can cause the runs--- so his diet is mainly greens washed before serving so they are moist when given for water -- and the protein -- others on here can have some ideas as well about getting a colony started --- I keep my roaches in a 10 gallon tank and feed them dubia food along w/ carrots for hydration - I do not feed my dragons carrots as they are getting the Vit A thru the roaches --- along w / the vitamins 2 x per week dusted on the roaches

Hi there,

Buying crickets from the petstore will quickly break the bank! Luckily you can buy crickets online for much cheaper. Usually you can get 1000 crickets for 20-30 bucks. But it does take a bit more effort to keep 1000 crickets alive than it does 50. I'd recommend watching some youtube videos on it if you decide to go that route.

Most people do order their feeders online as it's usually much cheaper. You can buy dubias from your local store, but they are most likely much more expensive than online. And the more you can buy at once to start a colony, the quicker your colony will become self sustaining.

Dubias are a better feeder --- they are more nutritious and easier to keep - a 10 gallon aquarium and dubia food w/ carrots as hydration - I usually order 200 at a time --

Getting ready for another day. Feeling sleepy. 😴
I just walked into my room and instead of looking at me, Swordtail's eyes darted directly to the ice cream drumstick I'm holding
Finally replaced Swordtail's substrate
I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.
