Hi! Last Friday, I brought home a 7in long baby beardie. The little guy has suffered a bit of relocation stress that he's started getting over, but I have noticed he's got a preference for greens! He chases and eats crickets fine at least once a day, yesterday he ate about 20 (a big improvement!), but when he turns down crickets I'll offer a little mustard or dandelion greens outside of his normal salad which he more than likely will happily eat up.

Is this normal?

An additional question, since he seems to want to eat like a juvenile anyway, when would be the best time to transition a beardie to the juvenile diet? Is there a particular size that I should drop the amount of times feeding him? Thanks in advance!

You need to offer him his bugs 2 x per day -- I would look at getting some dubia roaches -- they are way better for him and are easier to keep than crickets- they dont stink and they dont chirp and you can feed them carrots apples squash strawberries- they can be kept in a tote or a 10 gallon aquarium- as they dont climb or fly- as for greens your lucky hes eating them now most times they dont eat them- I would offer him collard mustard and turnip greens - squash some fruit - NO citrus once a day-- most of them do love dandelions - I pick them fresh every day now for Hiccup- I wasnt aware of a juvenile diet - I got Hiccup at 3 months old and fed him his bugs every day w/ calcium D3 5 x per week w/ vitamins 2 x per week -- he was switched over to dubias right after I got him as he wasnt hot on the crickets but went crazy for the dubias- plus dubias are more filling than crickets so w/ that 1 dubia = 6 crickets- you need to feed him as much as he will eat in 10-15 minutes ---

We should all be so lucky! One of mine is finally eating his after 1.5 years of me having to throw out perfectly good produce under the glare of some serious side-eye! Definitely continue to offer bugs at this age as KarrieRee mentioned.

I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.

i feel so sad reading your about me 😢
Clapton is acclimating okay I think. He's quick as lightning so I'm not sure how much I should bring him out of his house yet. He's not at all interested in his salad though. I wonder if I should change what I'm giving him. Least he's eating his crickets.

Things to do:
Buy calcium powder
Material to raise surface for basking spot
Scenery decals for back of tank
