Mealworms vs other worms

I just recently saw a video online about how feeding mealworms are bad for bearded dragons. I'm so worried that she might get intestinal damage as an infant that she won't live until she is a year old. I might just be paranoid, but are mealworms really that bad for young bearded dragons? If so, are there any other insects (besides crickets) that could serve as an alternative?

Depending on how large / old the dragon is :

Housefly gents & the pupae and flies
Blowfly gents & the pupae and flies
BSF lavae & pupae and flies
silkworms
…. are all excellent and nutritious staple feeders of the worm variety.

Other options are
crickets
roaches
locusts
….. suitable sized , gutloaded (to enrich their nutritional values and especially Ca/P level and moisture content) and dusted with Ca powder.

Hey! I also am not a fan of crickets! Honestly, my favorite thing right now is black soldier fly larvae. You can purchase it from flukersfarms.com

They don’t bite, you don’t need to feed them, and you can store them in the fridge if need be to stop them from morphing. I got the mediums ones before and they are fairly small, the large is a big upgrade and probably the size of a 1/2 inch or more. They have no shell so it’s easy digesting and I think I got 1000 of them for like $12-13...that includes the shipping. Also it only took 2-3 days to get to my place...depends on when you order them. You will need to brush off some of the excess dirt/substrate but that’s easy!
