I just adopted a 4 year old bearded dragon for my daughter and the person we adopted him from said she was feeding him 5 super worms, twice a day and then offering him a salad every other day. She mentioned that it would dry up in his enclosure so clearly he wasn't eating it all. After reading up on their dietary needs we have switched to one feeding of 5 super worms a day and we are offering him a fresh salad daily, but so far he's not very interested in it. He loves fresh strawberries but I don't want that to be his staple. We have offered him the leafy greens, snap peas, green beans, celery, peeled cucumber, bell peppers, sweet potato and carrots. I was hoping that cutting back on his super worms would encourage him to eat the greens but he seems stressed. We take him out and let him cruise around on the floor, he usually poops and then wants to go back to his enclosure. He's only interested in the super worms. He does like to cuddle on us, seems to like the warmth, but he doesn't like just being out on the floor. I also ordered some black fly larvae to try after reading that they have superior nutritional value. Are we making too many changes at once? suggestions?
