Hello! My bearded dragon Fiona was very intrigued by a small orchid plant that I have, she got a little too excited about it and was able to grab and quickly eat a petal off of a flower on the orchid before I could get to her. Does anyone know if this is toxic? I can't find anything online about it but would like to know if anyone has any insight on this. Thank you in advance!

No idea (depends on the species and amount consumed).

.... but if in doubt a vet should be consulted and administrering a slurry of activated carbon wont hurt her (has to be very fine !!! it's the extremely large active surface area of the particles that takes up any toxins and allows them to be passed).

I googled it http://www.orchidcarezone.com/the-culinary-delights-of-orchids/ ....I don't know how accurate this information is , I'd still id the species and check with the vet .

Thanks for the feedback! It is a mini Phalaenopsis Orchid, and each flower has 5 petals, she ate 1 of the 5 petals, it was not even a whole flower. And yes apparently orchids are safe for humans, cats, dogs, and rodents so that is good news.

I will be calling the vet in the morning just to make sure- as of now she is acting completely normal.

I just walked into my room and instead of looking at me, Swordtail's eyes darted directly to the ice cream drumstick I'm holding
Finally replaced Swordtail's substrate

What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.
