Beardie won’t eat veggies!

Hi everyone,

We’ve had our beardie for over a month now and he never wants to eat veggies! I’ve tried different types of veggies and he just always ignores them even if he is super hungry. Does anybody have any tips? I’ve also tried “tricking” him by putting worms on the veggies but he just takes the worm. Would really appreciate any help.

This is pretty common with the little guys. They prefer bugs because they need the protein to support big growth spurts. Just keep offering veges so they are familiar as a food source. It can help when they transition to mostly veges when they are about 12-18 months old and their growth slows. Crickets and roaches will usually take care of the extras pretty happily.
