quick question-- wanted to order from premium crickets-- they offer a "odor control" powder to put at the bottom of the cricket keeper to cut down on the smell, they say it is safe for the crickets to eat, but what about my dragon?? has anyone used this exact powder from them and is it safe or questionable?? it is vermiculite. any other suggestions to keep the odor to a minimum that is safe?? obviously the keeper will be in the house, but how bad does it smell say for a 1000 crickets at a time and would last for 1 month also do they grow each week and should i just get 500 if they do wouldn't they start to chirp AND have wings at the end of a batch (plus be way to big for a dragon that needs 3/8 size??)??

I don't know about the powder, my guess would be baking soda

I buy 1000 3/4" crix at a time and keep them in two sterilite bins with six 2" holes cut in the top. They do smell somewhat but it's not as bad if you keep them well ventilated, remove dead ones, and keep their food fresh. My 1000 crix only lasts about two weeks between my piggy breadie and die off.

if this is your first bulk order, I would buy 500 and try it out. That way you can get a good feel on how long they will last and how to control their odor.

no, I don't know of anything local. I get my crix from http://www.millbrookcrickets.com I've had pretty good success with their crix. I am probably going to try these guys next http://www.hungrylizard.com, they seem to have a little better prices.

I'm trying to get away from crix though, I've started my dubia colony last week. seeing that you live in southern NH, if my colony takes off, I might be able to get you started as well if you want. probably won't be for a few months thouugh

What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.

Clapton is acclimating okay I think. He's quick as lightning so I'm not sure how much I should bring him out of his house yet. He's not at all interested in his salad though. I wonder if I should change what I'm giving him. Least he's eating his crickets.

Things to do:
Buy calcium powder
Material to raise surface for basking spot
Scenery decals for back of tank
