28 hours in a car??

Hi all!!
The day after christmas, I will be moving from Massachusetts to Florida. I will be driving with my family, and i drove down there during the summer, and it took about 28 hours. Anyone have any ideas on how i can get Elvis down there ok in the car?? I'm totally clueless! Thanks,

Find a friend in florida and overnight him?

But if that's not possible, try to remember the things that he absolutely needs while in the car - especially heat. You could get a small box and buy a bunch of hand warmers (You can find them at Home Depot for half a dollar) to rotate the cooled ones out of the box for warm ones. He'll only have to be in the car for a solid day, give or take a few so I would just make sure I brought a dropper for water, some worms and a blanket or two. If it's dark in his box, he'll sleep, you can bring him out to sit on your lap or the rear window. He'll be ok without UVB for a day, don't worry about that. Just look at it as his first big adventure!

I myself live in Florida and have had to evacuate twice due to hurricanes with my beardie. The first time we were in the car for 15 hrs and she did fine with no heat/uvb.I like what whiskersmom said about the hand warmers (great idea) and your essentials food and water.I know you said 28 hrs,which is a long time,but the hand warmers should be sufficient for heat.Besides you will only need that heat for half that time and your beardie will more than likely sleep most of the trip.Also if you put him in the rear window like whiskersmom said during the day he'll get heat from the sun.

I've got a power inverter that plugs into the lighter in the car, and provides outlets that I could plug a heating pad to. I find it infinitely useful

we bring nesta around in a cat carrier from walmart-$12. its big enough and it has a nice felt bottom to it. i line it with newspaper so i don't have poop on felt and put her favorite blankie in there. i also buy "hot hands" at walmart-aka the greatest invention alive. they stay warm for 18 hours, usually in the sporting aisle. all you do is shake them and they become warm obviously make sure not to put the heatpad directly on your beardie.


also, as the others said, holding is great but i like the pet carrier for when nesta gets restless.

whew! that's a long drive. all of these are great ideas. if you plan to break up the driving, try and do most of it at night.

Wow!! thanks everyone for the quick replies. its gunna be really hard for my to transport all me pets there. (I have Elvis, a cat, and 6 frogs) My dads job got transported from wakefield MA to Hollywood FL. i dont know if any of you no that area well. In the summer, i take elvis almost everywhere with me, so hes pretty used to the car and he likes looking out the window for the rides. i will definantly have to stock up on heating pads, blankets, and worms. the good thing is that atleast one person will be up at a time, so if i decide to sleep someone will be able to watch him. Well, thanks for all the help! Elvis is waiting for dinner!!

you will love hollywood. my bro lives in ft lauderdale. we go to hollywood beach. they have an awesome 'boardwalk' for biking. and the casino is nice, but you are probably too young for that.

Yah i visited there over the summer. I went to the same beach, and rode my bike around with my cuz that lives there. I am too young for the cusino, but my parents went to one down there and loved it. my dads job got transfered to ft laudadale, so we are renting a house in Hollywood across the street from my family that lives there. Im a little upset about leaving all my friends and family up here, but i look forward to spending more time with my family and making new friend down there. Plus, my mom said maybe after we move, i can get another beardie
