hi everybody, long time reader, first time poster...here's frank.

frank is about ten years old, and is a total trooper. he just had his bi annual checkup with an awesome herp vet here in chicago and is in great health.

but

i have to leave town for about 5 days and i don't really know too many people in the city...and my neighbors are a little creepy (don't want them in my apartment when i'm not here, ya know?)

based on your experiences, do you think he's in any real danger if he's alone for that long? i have his lights on a timer, and i've been trying to fatten him up with daily silkworms, but he doesn't really gain weight. should i just leave a huge bowl of greens in there...maybe with some water in the bottom?

i'm a little skeptical to leave some silkworms in there, because he'll just tear through them until he explodes.

It's so nice to see old healthy beardies! Do you think your vet's office would be willing to board him for you?

If you can't find anyone else, he should be fine for 5 days on his own, especially since his lights are on a timer. I'd suggest feeding him well before you leave and giving him a bath or misting to make sure he's also well hydrated. Then leave out a big salad and some food pellets (if he'll eat them) for him to pick at. You could leave some silkworms in a bowl they can't climb out of as well if you'd like.

thank you for your responses.

i was finally able to get a friend to promise to come at a day about halfway through my trip to feed and mist him. i'll still stuff and soak him before i go.

and midnight, i go to animal house of chicago. they seem to know their stuff, and there is a super hot asian nurse.

I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.

i feel so sad reading your about me 😢
Clapton is acclimating okay I think. He's quick as lightning so I'm not sure how much I should bring him out of his house yet. He's not at all interested in his salad though. I wonder if I should change what I'm giving him. Least he's eating his crickets.

Things to do:
Buy calcium powder
Material to raise surface for basking spot
Scenery decals for back of tank
