tail rot or shed?

Around four days ago my beardie (male, almost 2 years old) began having a black tail. It wasn't there when I first woke up, but appeared like an hour or two later. The next day it turned more gray, which made me think that it might be shed. However he never shed like this while I had him, which makes me confused.

Usually when it comes to him shedding the area he's going to throw off is very distinct and you can tell which is coming off down to the very scale. This time it's more like a gradient and only reaches half his tail.

Apart from the tail he's active, has a good appetite, and shows no other signs of being stressed or sick.

I dont see any injuries or nips to the tail --- and it is really dark -- I am going to have AHBD take a look but I am thinking its not tail rot but shed --- but we are going to have her look

I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.

i feel so sad reading your about me 😢
Clapton is acclimating okay I think. He's quick as lightning so I'm not sure how much I should bring him out of his house yet. He's not at all interested in his salad though. I wonder if I should change what I'm giving him. Least he's eating his crickets.

Things to do:
Buy calcium powder
Material to raise surface for basking spot
Scenery decals for back of tank
