Moving to a new state with beardie

I have a bearded dragon named simba, he’s about 3 years old (I’ve had him since he was a baby) and I am going to be moving out of state. It’s about a 4-5 hour drive but I don’t want to leave him behind. If I absolutely have to, I will find someone to take care of him but I want to move him with me if possible. What are your recommendations? What would be the best way to move him? I also have a colony of dubia roaches. Since he is now an adult and does not eat as many as he used to would it be practical to try to move those with me as well? Thank you in advance!!

A few hours in a car shouldn't pose a problem at all. I would get a carrier that you can strap to a seatbelt for him, but even a box with a towel or soft blanket at the bottom would do. He will be fine at car temps and for a short drive like that probably won't need anything else. It's a good idea to have an extra towel available as well as some cleaning supplies in case he poops. When you get to your new spot, just set his enclosure up like usual and put him back in. I'd also bring the roach colony since they take so long to re-start. If that is in a tank or bin, it should be relatively portable.

I just walked into my room and instead of looking at me, Swordtail's eyes darted directly to the ice cream drumstick I'm holding
Finally replaced Swordtail's substrate
I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.
