Drinking fountain?

Hi all!

Despite my best efforts, Cookie will not drink from a water bowl or even from her baths. So, I've been hydrating her with a dropper (which is adorable, but not ideal). I've been considering getting a small water fountain for her tank to see if she might drink on her own from moving water.

Does anyone else have a running fountain for their BD's enclosure? What are some pros/cons? Are there any specifically that you would recommend?

Thanks in advance for the help!

I do not use one. My only concern would be raising the humidity level too high in the enclosure. I just mist down my beardies salads to get him his hydration.

They can get plenty of hydration from fresh food, so I think it's best to focus on that if they aren't drinking from drips/spray on the nose, or from a dish (flicking the water to make movement sometimes helps).

As far as a fountain goes, some people have tried it with mixed success. It does create movement to attract attention. The water will need to be cleaned/changed regularly though, and the fountain itself will need to be kept clean and sanitary which can introduce a fair bit of maintenance work.

Moving water can be great to attract attention, but in my opinion a fountain is not a great option for a couple reasons. Any fountain is going to require a pump which is fine in itself, but will most likely require a larger amount of water to ensure the pump does not run dry and burn out. The higher volume of water increases the possible negative effects on humidity.

Something that has worked for me is using an adjustable aquarium air pump with a very small air stone for aquariums. It will work in a small bowl of water to crate some movement with the air bubbles and will not be effected at all if the water gets too low. The only downside can be that cheaper pumps are louder, but most when turned down low to just produce a few bubbles for movement will be quite quiet.

What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.

Clapton is acclimating okay I think. He's quick as lightning so I'm not sure how much I should bring him out of his house yet. He's not at all interested in his salad though. I wonder if I should change what I'm giving him. Least he's eating his crickets.

Things to do:
Buy calcium powder
Material to raise surface for basking spot
Scenery decals for back of tank
