So I’ve had several beardies in the past- babies all the way up to adult. I love them at all stages and they all have special personalities. I have one right now, named Patrick, who seems a little more sassy than my others. It seems as though when I don’t give Patrick what he wants he gets.. annoyed? mad? at me. For example- I’ve been switching up his eating habits a little lately and on specific days he used to get worms. Now those worms are replaced with dubia (we do feed a 70/30 diet so bugs aren’t everyday) and when I start setting up to feed he gets really excited, but when I take him out to give him his food that has been replaced with something healthier, he refuses it and for a few hours, sometimes longer, will give me the evil eye from his cage or isn’t interested in hanging around for cuddles when he’s usually the most cuddly nugget. Same situation with coming out of the viv- if I’m in a meeting on zoom and I just can’t let him out to roam or hang out with me, he sulks, gives the evil eye, and when I do let him out he’ll avoid me for a bit. I know they’re sassy to begin with and the saying goes that you don’t train them, they train you, but I just want to know if I’m crazy or if anyone else’s scale children do this also. It’s not that I haven’t experienced this with my others, he just seems to be more stubborn and hard headed about what he wants and showing me how he feels when he doesn’t get it than my others are.

Charlie can be sassy too. He's so dang picky about greens. And he hates coming in from outside adventures. I think he is less petulant when he gets his outside time each day, unfortunately the temperature has been dropping here and he's stuck inside. I think I might build him a play space here at the library. He can't really roam free but it would give him something to do -- a way to let off some teenage angst.

Mari literally throws a temper tantrum if you put kale within 10 feet of her. She will throw it EVERYWHERE and start hissing and then she will glare at you until you get her what SHE wants to eat. Beardies are just scaly cats.

I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.

i feel so sad reading your about me 😢
Clapton is acclimating okay I think. He's quick as lightning so I'm not sure how much I should bring him out of his house yet. He's not at all interested in his salad though. I wonder if I should change what I'm giving him. Least he's eating his crickets.

Things to do:
Buy calcium powder
Material to raise surface for basking spot
Scenery decals for back of tank
