So I decided to do another post that is more on the general side of thingsthis will update just new things that are going on in general some of my new plans what sort of animals I'm looking at getting anytime I'm encountering problems and solutions that I have found I'll also put on here.

So here's some basic information for anybody who does not know me and does not talk to me regularly on private message. I have work at the Pittsburgh zoo&PPG aquarium right before covid-19 left work to begin pursuing my own business and career as an animal educator and shop owner both are in the beginning stages. I have licenses to own several different types of reptiles the larger monitor lizards different species of birds and crocodilians but right now all I have are my bearded dragons and my ackie monitors. In the past I have owned Savannah monitors two black throated monitors and one Asian water monitor. I had one of my male Savannah monitors for 10 years until he unexpectedly got cancer he passed away in 2009. I recently before I got my ackie monitors had a male savannah monitor purchased him from reptile City and he did not survive too long after he died very mysteriously and I had him looked at and apparently he somehow had gotten concrete into his stomach and it had slowly solidified Hades was very loved reptile City is a very bad place do not get any animals from them. the two black throat monitors that I had I had bought them as a pair a male and female unfortunately that was back whenever I was still pretty naive when it came to taking care of reptiles and I would say animals in general I was still in grade school probably the 6th grade and I had somehow convinced my mother that it was a good idea little did we know that at the time that they grew to be 6 + feet long they were too much of an animal for need to take care of at the time but I am going to get another one now that I am a lot more experienced not to mention they are my favorite species of monitor I will get a couple of them and breed them use them for my shop and education ambassadors. I'm one of the people on here that like to promote bioactive enclosures I have a proper degree in habitat study also animal behavior I have a lot going on with my enclosures. When it comes to my three bearded dragons Spike has a plant in her enclosureI do cycle them out but right now due to covid-19 I haven't been able to get new plants at least ones that I find satisfying. Shenrons enclosure has a rotating plant but right now it is out it's a safe aloe plant I have had multiple and his tank but just like Spike he keeps eating the aloes which is okay it's what they are there for but eventually I would like to get another alarm shella feed plant and some other beardie friendly herbs like some mint. The same goes for Coral except for I have never introduced a proper plant since Coral was kind of unexpected a lot of the older leftover material that I have been saving up was used when Coral is older and I put him into his permanent enclosure there will be some plants. all of what I just said is true for the ackie monitors except where I can go crazy with the ackie monitors they do not eat plants so long as it's not Sharp and they have to be sturdy I have actually imported a couple of bushes and a native species of lemongrass from Australia from around the red center but this is my secret right now just letting them grow before I put them into their enclosure. All of my enclosures have a very complicated rain system it is all on a group of timers releasing misting and proper soakings based off of what the sensor in their enclosure is giving. Keeping the humidity for the beardies in between 30 and 40% and the ackie monitors enclosure is kept roughly at 40% I also painstakingly maintain their burrow humidity in the 90s both of them are flourishing. Odin is already at the full size of an adult and is not slowing down he still has to bulk up but he is definitely on his way to setting possible records. So if you have any general questions anything that's not too crazy of course feel free to ask I can give you my opinion and educated guest about things.

Thanks for posting the update. Was it difficult to get the native lemongrass and bushes from Australia? Have you run into any issues getting them to thrive in captivity here? I'd imagine getting those going would be key to a really nice native enclosure for them.

All you really need to do is just get their seeds and they are okay just getting into a point where they're big enough that the monitors aren't going to destroy them they don't eat them but they tend to run through them and lay on them they're pretty destructive on their environment.

I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.

i feel so sad reading your about me 😢
Clapton is acclimating okay I think. He's quick as lightning so I'm not sure how much I should bring him out of his house yet. He's not at all interested in his salad though. I wonder if I should change what I'm giving him. Least he's eating his crickets.

Things to do:
Buy calcium powder
Material to raise surface for basking spot
Scenery decals for back of tank
