Baby bearded dragon in shed/hates baths

Hi all! I have a bit of explaining to do so stay with me:) I have a baby bearded dragon, and he (or she!) is about 6 inches long. Tomorrow is the 2 week mark since I brought him home. I think he is having his first shed with me and I have a few questions that follow. Do bearded dragons generally get aggressive during this time? Him and I have had a great couple of weeks up until about 2 days ago. He began opening his mouth when I try to pick him up (which i do from the front of his enclosure and gently slide my finger under his belly slowly, i always let him see my hand for 10 or so minutes before picking him up) and he hissed when i tried to feed him his greens. He also HATES baths, and I don’t know what to do because I know how important it is to bathe them, especially while in shed. Any and all advice is appreciated:) I’m doing my best over here! Hope you are all safe and healthy during this time.

Hiccup he is 6 and Blaze is 4
Hes going thru relocation stress and w/ the shedding makes them crabby---it is not uncommon for them to do the hissing trying to bite and run -- mine did all 3--- he was really feisty-- took months for him to come around and not be like this - he was 3 months when I got him and around 7 months he finally started coming around --- its going to take patience and time --- just keep working w/ him and doing about your business in the tank and hand feed him-------------- go over your lighting in the tank UVB brand and bulb coil or a tube --- what are your basking temps and how are you taking them ? NO stick ons they are inaccurate

They actually dont needs baths unless they dirty themselves. During shedding it can help but if he doesn't like them and you still want to help you can give him a little mist with a spray bottle.

make sure it isnt tap water it is harmful to them use either spring water or tap water treated with reptisafe and you can use shed ease to add into the bath water to help

Agreed, no need to bathe if your dragon doesn't like it. Unless they run through their poo lol!

Shedding is a very natural process. One that has been done for millenia. And it has always been done without human intervention. I don't know what started this whole trend of needing to help your dragon when it sheds, but you definitely do not have to do anything at all to help your dragon shed, except in extreme and rare circumstances :)

So, you don't NEED to bathe, you don't NEED to mist, and you definitely don't NEED to use a "shed aid" product either. Mother nature can do it just fine :)

Thank you all so much for your help! I am so relieved after reading all of your thorough and well written supplies. I don't know what I would do without this forum! Thanks a million.

I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.

i feel so sad reading your about me 😢
Clapton is acclimating okay I think. He's quick as lightning so I'm not sure how much I should bring him out of his house yet. He's not at all interested in his salad though. I wonder if I should change what I'm giving him. Least he's eating his crickets.

Things to do:
Buy calcium powder
Material to raise surface for basking spot
Scenery decals for back of tank
