Beardie going dark

So sometimes my bearded dragon will go darker his whole body. Then all the sudden will go back to his normal color is this normal or is it something to worry about

Does he do this sitting under his basking lamp?

I've found him dark under both but usually its when he's under his uvb. Or usually in the morning before his lights are on

Its a sign of absorbing heat --- they usually do it under the basking light - is your UVB close to your basking decor --

His basking log is by it but about 7 inches away so he's getting both I checked his basking temps and its 106 and his humidity is always good it has been a bit colder in the mornings so try to get his lights on when I wake up

What is tank temp in morning? Should not be below 65

I got a digital with a probe on his cool side and every morning it reads about 70 to 74
